Ermina

(GALBA x ECHIDNA)
2006 Chestnut Mare

Ermina was bred in Poland by the fabled Michalów State Stud, but left there in utero when her dam Echidna was exported. Echidna is out of the fabulous Monogramm mare Elandra, who won the Scottsdale Champion Mare and U.S. Reserve National Champion Mare titles among many others. Elandra herself was the only foal from the elegant Eukaliptus daughter, Polish National Reserve Champion Mare, Erlanda. This family is deep in genetic power, as evidenced by Erlanda’s legendary sisters, World, European and Polish National Champion Mare Emigracja, and the supreme broodmares Emanacja, and Emigrantka. They have collectively produced a small army of champions and champion producers. Ermina can thank them for her amazing silhouette and lofty carriage, her long, elegant neck and her supreme type. Ermina is among the best offspring of 1999 World Champion Stallion Galba, who was also the 1999 All Nations Cup and European Champion Stallion. An Aswan grandson, Galba’s pedigree provides him with type and substance that he in turn gives to his offspring.

Ermina has already established herself as a superior broodmare for Athbah. Her first contribution came in 2012 when she produced a colt and a filly by virtue of embryo transfer. The full siblings were both sired by Aja Justified, and both have won titles in the show ring on behalf of Athbah. The colt, Naif Athbah, was crowned the 2014 Belgian National Silver Champion Colt, 2014 Bruges Gold Champion Colt.  His sister, Latifa Athbah, had already won the Silver Champion Filly award at Bruges as a yearling in 2013, proving the incredible predictability of this magic cross.
